David Brown

After 30 years largely devoted to teaching others, David retired in 1999 in order to concentrate more fully on his own work. He has long been recognised for his expertise in designing and making teapots in a variety of styles, and more recently for his turquioise and mauve range of glazes and textural surfaces applied to a range of vessels that often reflect his long-term interest in the sea and sky, as well as rocks, minerals and fossils. David works mainly in a smooth, pale stoneware clay, firing in an electric kiln to a temperature of 1250 C.

Dave is recognised among potters and craftsmen as he is a member of the Craft Potters Association, the Westcountry Potters Association, and the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen.
