Lance Nation

Lance was born in Bournemouth in 1958 and trained at Bournemouth College of Art between 1974 and 1977. He studied life drawing, illustration and the history of art with brothers Cliff and Graham Towler, under the guidance of Sam Rabin RCA and Stanley Payne RCA.

After college he became a technical illustrator at IBM in Winchester where he worked for three years before teaming up with Cliff again to illustrate for the National Trust on a series of publications for many of their West Country properties.

Lance now works mainly in acryllic, watercolour, bricks and mortar!
